Terms of Service
The terms that govern your access to and use of ShipCheck.
Last updated: August 11, 2026
1. Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or using ShipCheck, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you should not use ShipCheck.
2. What ShipCheck does
ShipCheck is a developer tool that analyzes repositories, pull requests, code changes, and related repository information to identify potential software issues before code is shipped or merged.
ShipCheck may provide findings related to security, reliability, testing, accessibility, code quality, regressions, and other software development concerns.
3. Your account
You may sign in to ShipCheck using a supported third-party authentication provider such as GitHub. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for activity that occurs through it.
You may only connect repositories that you are authorized to access and analyze.
4. GitHub and repository access
ShipCheck may access repository information through the GitHub App or other GitHub integrations you authorize.
ShipCheck will only have access to repositories and permissions granted through your GitHub installation and authorization settings.
You are responsible for ensuring that your use of ShipCheck complies with any agreements, policies, or obligations that apply to the code and repositories you connect.
5. Automated analysis
ShipCheck uses automated systems to analyze software. Findings are provided for informational and development-assistance purposes and may not identify every defect, vulnerability, regression, or other issue.
A successful scan, high score, or absence of findings does not guarantee that software is secure, error-free, compliant, or suitable for production.
You remain responsible for reviewing, testing, approving, and deploying your code.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use ShipCheck to:
- Access repositories or systems without authorization.
- Violate applicable laws or the rights of others.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, exploit, or interfere with ShipCheck.
- Circumvent access controls, rate limits, or security protections.
- Use ShipCheck to distribute malicious code or facilitate unauthorized attacks.
7. Your code and content
You retain ownership of the code, repository data, and other content you connect to ShipCheck.
You grant ShipCheck permission to process that content only as necessary to operate, secure, maintain, and improve the service in accordance with these terms and our Privacy Policy.
8. Third-party services
ShipCheck relies on third-party services, including services such as GitHub and authentication, hosting, database, and infrastructure providers.
Your use of those services may also be subject to their own terms and policies. ShipCheck is not responsible for third-party services that are outside our control.
9. Availability and changes
We may modify, suspend, limit, or discontinue all or part of ShipCheck at any time. Features available during beta or early access may change without notice.
We may also update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we may update the date shown at the top of this page or provide additional notice where appropriate.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
ShipCheck is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the fullest extent permitted by law.
We do not guarantee that ShipCheck will be uninterrupted, error-free, completely secure, or that its analysis will detect every problem in your software.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, ShipCheck and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, business, or goodwill arising from your use of the service.
12. Termination
You may stop using ShipCheck at any time. We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary to protect ShipCheck, other users, third parties, or the integrity of the service.
13. Contact
